Conditional
Sentence Type 1
Let’s
study the sentences below!
1. If you study hard, you will pass
the exam.
2. It will take about 5 minutes if
you go there on foot.
3. If I have much money, I will buy
a luxurious car.
4. She will come to my party if she
has much time.
5. They will win the football
competition if they practice it seriously.
Notes;
1.
The
sentences consists of two clauses, the main
clause and the if clause.
2.
The
if clause gives a condition to the
main clause.
3.
The
main clause tells us the result if
the condition happens. The main clause takes Future Tense, as in:

You will pass the exam.
-
It will take about 5 minutes.
-
I will buy a luxurious car.
-
She will come to my party.
-
They will win the football
competition.
4.
The
if clause takes Simple Present Tense, as in
-
If you study hard.
-
If you go there on foot.
-
If I have much money.
-
If she has much time.
-
If they practice seriously.
